I started in design. Web banners, emailers and print at Aequor Information Technologies in 2011, then six years at Dorling Kindersley, part of Penguin Random House, as a Senior DTP Designer producing illustrated books for global markets. Publishing teaches you that deadlines are real and that quality is a process, not a mood.
That’s where I learned that good design isn’t decoration. It’s communication.
In 2018 I joined VDX.tv, a global advertising technology company, as Senior Specialist, Creative Strategy. Over eight years I designed and delivered interactive, motion and rich-media creative for more than 200 campaigns across the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, India and the Gulf, mostly for finance and retail advertisers. I introduced AI-supported creative variations that lifted click-through rate by about 20%, and improved the production and QA workflow enough to raise our team’s throughput by 40%.
In 2026 I moved to Hamilton to study a Master of Digital Business at the University of Waikato, after completing an MBA specialising in Digital Marketing Management. I wanted the analytics and business side of marketing to be as strong as the creative side.
Since arriving I have been doing the hands-on work. As Marketing Executive at Mac’s Steakhouse I run the social media, the content calendar, Google and Meta ads, monthly email campaigns, the WordPress site, the Google Business Profile and the monthly reporting. At Tech4You I look after website content and completed an SEO audit and a 12-week plan across their three locations. The budgets are smaller than the ones I worked with before, and I like that: you see the result of a decision within days.
I am looking for digital marketing and digital business work in New Zealand: part-time while I study, full-time after that. If you are a Waikato business or agency, I would enjoy a conversation.
